When used with MTP backbone cables, MTP® fiber patch cords enable seamless migration of data center multimode systems to higher data transmission rates. Primarily used for intra-cabinet connections, they serve as a cost-effective alternative that eliminates time-consuming on-site termination, making them ideal for high-density fiber cabling in space-constrained data centers with stringent cable management requirements.
As MTP-12 is compatible with MTP-8 fiber systems, it is also suitable for 8-fiber parallel multimode optical module applications, such as connections for 40G QSFP+ PLR4, 100G QSFP28 PSM4, 400G OSFP DR4/XDR4 and 400G QSFP-DD DR4/XDR4 optical modules.
