When used with backbone patch cords, MTP® fiber patch cords enable seamless migration of data center multimode systems during data rate upgrades. Primarily used for intra-rack connections, these patch cords serve as a cost-effective alternative that eliminates time-consuming on-site termination, making them ideal for high-density fiber cabling in data centers with limited space and stringent cable management requirements.
MTP-16 is suitable for 16-fiber parallel single-mode optical module applications, such as connections for 800G QSFP-DD/OSFP DR8 and 800G OSFP XDR8 optical modules.
