MTP® backbone patch cords are equipped with a more robust double-layer jacket, delivering superior compression resistance.They are commonly used for long‑distance connections between racks or for interconnections between different areas within a building.As a cost‑effective alternative, MTP® fiber patch cords eliminate time‑consuming on‑site termination, making them ideal for high‑density fiber cabling in data centers with limited space and strict cable management requirements.
Since MTP‑12 supports MTP‑8 fiber systems, it is also suitable for 8‑fiber parallel optical module applications, such as connections for 40G QSFP+ PLR4, 100G QSFP28 PSM4, 400G OSFP DR4/XDR4 and 400G QSFP‑DD DR4/XDR4 optical modules.
