When used with MTP backbone patch cords, MTP breakout patch cords enable seamless migration of multi-mode data center systems when upgrading data transmission rates. Primarily used for intra-cabinet connections, these fiber patch cords serve as a cost-effective alternative that eliminates time-consuming on-site termination, making them ideal for high-density fiber cabling in data centers with limited space and stringent cable management requirements.
The MTP-16 is optimized for connecting 800G OSFP XDR8 to 100G QSFP28 FR, 800G QSFP-DD/OSFP DR8 to 100G QSFP28 DR optical transceivers, as well as for high-density data center applications.
