This NVIDIA/Mellanox cable is a 200Gb/s QSFP56 to 200Gb/s QSFP56 HDR InfiniBand Active Optical

Cable (AOC). It adopts Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable 56 (QSFP56) optical modules and contains

4 pairs of high-speed copper pairs, each supporting data transmission rates up to 50Gb/s. The cable

complies with QSFP56 MSA and IEEE 802.3 standards. The optical cable delivers higher port bandwidth, density and configurability for data centers, with

lower cost and power consumption, and is widely used in cloud computing and supercomputers. In

addition, it is extensively applied to connect NVIDIA GPU-based systems to InfiniBand networks and

InfiniBand storage networks. Compared with optical transceivers, the optical cable offers more cost-effective advantages of low

cost and high reliability. Compared with high-speed cables, it is lighter and more flexible, providing

better airflow support and longer transmission distances.
